Initial investigations revealed that the suppression of IFITM1 in cervical cancer cells affects the levels of members of the IFN-related DNA damage resistance signature (IRDS) (18), including major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I), suggesting a possible explanation for the inverse correlation between metastasis formation and IFITM1/3 expression in cervical cancer tissues. Here, IFNA1 is linked to cervical cancer.
