HDGFL2 and malaria: , 2017 demonstrated that the specificity of HRP2/pLDH combination RDTs for the diagnosis of clinical and severe P. falciparum malaria in high malaria transmission settings in Uganda improved from 62 to 82% and 52.1% to 89.1%, respectively, when the RDT result was read as positive if both HRP2 and pLDH bands were positive [12, 55].
