There are a few reports on the involvement of virus infection in cell wall biosynthesis; in Penicillium stoloniferum, Aspergillus foetidus and Aspergillus niger, virus-infected strains produced more galactosamines than uninfected strains, and in Botrytis cinerea, the viruses induced production of chitin/glycoproteins that were included in the cell wall [49, 51]. The gene discussed is ART4; the disease is viral infectious disease.
