One report of post‐cardiac surgery thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) provided evidence that preexisting quiescent anti‐ADAMTS13 autoantibodies can become clinically relevant during the proinflammatory milieu that inevitably follows cardiac surgery, though absence of schistocytes argued against TTP in this patient [4, 5]. Here, ADAMTS13 is linked to thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
