The results of our study were similar to previous reports, showing that quercetin treatment significantly enriched the abundance of Faecalibacterium, Lactobacillus, and Dubosiella. Up-regulated Lactobacillus strains increase AhR ligands and improve intestinal barrier function, leading to a reduction in obesity and metabolic disorders caused by high-fat diets (37). This evidence concerns the gene AHR and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
