When comparing FTD patients with healthy controls (Table 1), the most substantial evidence for increased biomarker levels was found for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in both blood [16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25] and CSF [21,26,27,28,29]. The gene discussed is GFAP; the disease is frontotemporal dementia.
