In various tumor models, perturbation in Ca2+ homeostasis resulted in consequences like promotion of cell proliferation, invasion, tumor angiogenesis, cell migration, metastases, reduced apoptosis, alterations in cell adhesion, cellular responses to some stimuli, intracellular communication through gap junctions, response to ATP effects, altered oxidative response, etc. [86] ATP‐P2RX6 modulates the Ca2+‐mediated p‐ERK1/2/MMP9 signaling to enhance the migration and invasion of renal carcinoma cells [87]. Here, MAPK3 is linked to renal carcinoma.
