CYP1A2 and myocardial infarction: Research stratified by CYP1A2 genotype has shown significant differences between the two groups: slow metabolizers (AC/CC genotype) begin to show an increased risk of myocardial infarction when consuming more than 2 cups daily (OR = 1.64, 95% CI 1.14–2.34), while fast metabolizers (AA genotype) do not show an increased risk of myocardial infarction even with high intake, and a trend toward a decreased risk of myocardial infarction was observed, though the difference was not statistically significant (61).
