Several coagulation and fibrinolytic factors, including plasminogen, alpha-2-antiplasmin(α2AP), tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), fibrinogen, thrombin activated fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), and D-dimer, have been found to be involved in the pathogenesis of COVID-19-related coagulopathy (Henry et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene SERPINE1 and COVID-19.
