The TWAS results showed that high expression of one particular gene, SF3A3, which encodes an important splicing factor, was significantly associated with increased risk of CRC (P = 5.75 × 10−11, Supplementary Table 4), consistent with previous findings that indicated an oncogenic role for SF3A3 in tumor progression21–24. The gene discussed is SF3A3; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
