Furthermore, to explore whether SF3A3 could be considered as a potential drug target for CRC clinical treatment, we referred to the DrugBank database and found that the SF3A3 gene is a putative target for PEITC, which has been reported to inhibit cancer cell growth through cell-cycle arrest and induction of apoptotic events in various human cancer cells models including colorectal cancer cells30, prostate cancer cells31, osteogenic sarcoma cells32, and oral cancer cells33. This evidence concerns the gene SF3A3 and lip and oral cavity carcinoma.
