A single recent study by Zoi et al. (2022) provided in vitro results showing that PC1 along with hydrostatic pressure affects the expression of proteins like the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR), extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and transcription cofactors YES-associated protein (YAP), and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) as well as proteins related to anti-apoptosis, apoptosis, angiogenesis, epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), and proliferation in GBM [27]. The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is glioblastoma.
