In addition, STEAP1 may have an influence on tumor behavior through many different signaling pathways, such as the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) regulated by the JAK/STAT pathway in lung adenocarcinoma [22], c-Myc-mediated proliferation and cell cycle arrest in hepatocellular carcinoma [23], AKT/FOXO1 and EIF4E signaling-mediated invasion in gastric cancer [24,25], and NRF2 pathway-provoked cell apoptosis in colorectal cancer [26]. This evidence concerns the gene STEAP1 and colorectal cancer.
