POMC and hyperprolactinemia: Although secondary adrenocortical insufficiency and lower serum ACTH levels were observed significantly more often in patients with empty sella, logistic regression showed none of the morphological parameters of the pituitary gland (i.e., its volume; AP, CC, or transverse diameters; or stalk displacement) to be a significant predictor of hormonal disorders, such as adrenocortical insufficiency or hyperprolactinemia.
