SLC4A1 and neoplasm: The RNA-seq data from the patient biopsies revealed an association between response to axitinib and a number of genes involved in several metabolic pathways, including genes in the solute carrier family, namely SLC6A19, SLC22A12, SLCO2A1 and SLC4A1. The concomitant increase in MVD and expression of genes related to solute metabolism and transport point towards a relationship between the metabolic pathways in the tumour and the induction of angiogenesis.
