S100A8 and infection: To understand if IFNγ dampens protective IL-17 response during secondary infection with C. auris, we examined the transcripts associated with IL-17 signatures, such as Il6, Il1b, Cxcl1, and S100a8. We found that Il6, Il1b, Cxcl1, and S100a8 transcripts associated with IL-17 signature were significantly increased in the Ifng-/- mice compared with WT mice infected with C. auris (Fig 2E).
