MAVS and viral infectious disease: This finding is analogous to that of Araujo et al.54, although they employed different animals, inoculation procedures, and organs (liver, spleen) in their experiments response to viral infection, the innate immune system of mice activates type I interferon, interferon-regulatory factors (IRF) 3 and 7, and mitochondrial antiviral-signaling protein (MAVS) to regulate virus proliferation, liver damage, and mortality.
