Compared with the baseline, two months of administration of GSE (250 mg of proanthocyanidins/daily) significantly reduced IL-6 (27.3 ± 1.87 pg/mL vs. 25.2 ± 3.60 pg/mL) and malondialdehyde (17.0 ± 1.95 μM vs. 15.5 ± 2.55 μM) in 25 NAFLD patients [3]. Here, IL6 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
