According to western blot and immunofluorescence analyses, SM-3-treated human lung cancer cells (A549, H292, and H460) showed decreased levels of stem cell markers (CD44, CD133, ALDH1 A1) and stem cell transcription factors (NANOG, OCT4, SOX2) (Fig. 9H, S3H, S4H and 9I, S3I, S4I). The gene discussed is POU5F1; the disease is lung carcinoma.
