While the vagus nerve has been established as a crucial part of the inflammatory response (Pavlov et al., 2003; Pavlov & Tracey, 2012) and lower HRV has been associated with higher CRP (Jarczok et al., 2014; Sajadieh et al., 2004), studies have yet to explore links between HRV, CRP, and LAP (as opposed to BMI), which is warranted to better understand the development of adiposity and cardiovascular disease risk. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and cardiovascular disorder.
