We have recently shown that Pdlim5, an adaptor protein containing PDZ and LIM domain 5, is critically required for regulating lipid metabolism heterogeneity in Alzheimer disease [13], is functionally important in BBB damage after acute ischemic stroke [14], and Pdlim5/YAP critically mediates BBB disruption in acute ischemic stroke [15]. The gene discussed is PDLIM5; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
