In rats with hypertension-induced heart failure, colchicine, an anti-inflammatory drug, improved diastolic function, reduced inflammatory infiltration in cardiac tissue, and decreased the expression of TNF-α, chemokine ligant-2 (CCL2), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP1), NLRP3 and NF-κB in the myocardium [96]. Here, CCL2 is linked to heart failure.
