Recent studies have identified potential targets to overcome chemoresistance in OS, including PAXX, a factor in non-homologous end joining (NHEJ), a key DNA repair pathway, by using a molecule called M11 that can disrupt the PAXX-Ku70 interaction and re-sensitize the chemoresistant osteosarcoma cells to doxorubicin and cisplatin [100].
