A recent study showed that markers of MASLD severity in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia improved more in those receiving combination therapy with statins and the cholesterol absorption inhibitor ezetimibe, as well as in those treated with a regimen of statins, ezetimibe, and PCSK9 inhibitors, compared to those on statin monotherapy [204]. Here, PCSK9 is linked to familial hypercholesterolemia.
