Metabolic and lipid profiles; including fasting insulin, fasting glucose, HbA1c, and HOMA-IR; total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride levels were comparable between individuals with PWS (MetS−) and subjects with EOB (MetS−), with the exception of HDL-cholesterol levels, which were higher in individuals with PWS (MetS−) than in subjects with EOB (MetS−), thus suggesting a better protection factor from cardiovascular diseases, such as ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction, in individuals with PWS (MetS−) [24]. Here, INS is linked to cardiovascular disorder.
