A similar study conducted on 180 PCOS-afflicted women from south India found that the presence of a hyper-inducible CYP1A1 (T6235C) mutant genotype and its mutants in combination with GSTM1- and GSTT1-null genotypes may result in an imbalance between phase I and phase II enzymes and thus may be a risk factor for PCOS [43]. This evidence concerns the gene CYP1A1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
