In GBM samples from the TCGA database, human analogs of the genes downregulated in CD11b+ in response to 7aaRGD in U87-MG-RFP+ gliomas (including genes involved in antigen presentation in both experimental models) were inferred to be expressed in alternatively (M2) activated macrophages (Fig. 6D, F-G), and those with upregulated expression in the 7aaRGD group were predominantly associated with classically (M1) activated macrophages (Fig. 6E), as predicted using quanTIseq deconvolution of bulk RNA-seq data via GEPIA2021. This evidence concerns the gene ITGAM and central nervous system cancer.
