While a knockout of cNAP1 leads to viable mice [but causes male infertility; (51)], our data in DCs indicate an important function of cNAP1 given that the low knockout rates of around 20% on the allelic level in the used conditional knockout system correlate with a similar rate of centrosome fracturing at path junctions, potentially indicating a critical role of cNAP1 in DC-mediated immune responses and more broadly in a functional immune system. Here, CEP250 is linked to male infertility.
