As expected, participants with T1DM were exclusively treated with insulin, in contrast to those with T2DM who were on various combinations of antidiabetic agents, including sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) (47.3%), glucagon-like receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) (63.1%), metformin (84.2%), dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors (31.5%), and pioglitazone (5.2%). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is type 1 diabetes mellitus.
