P2RY12 and atrial fibrillation: In the PIONEER-AF PCI (Open-Label, Randomized, Controlled, Multicenter Study Exploring Two Treatment Strategies of Rivaroxaban and a Dose-Adjusted Oral Vitamin K Antagonist Treatment Strategy in Subjects with Atrial Fibrillation who Undergo Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) trial, 2124 AF patients undergoing PCI were randomly assigned to three groups: (1) 15 mg rivaroxaban once daily plus a P2Y12 inhibitor for 12 months; (2) 2.5 mg rivaroxaban twice daily plus DAPT for 1, 6, or 12 months; or (3) VKAs plus DAPT for 1, 6, or 12 months.
