Sehgal et al. reported that among 269 patients with CPA without asthma or a history of treatment, 34.6% had serum total immunoglobulin E (IgE) > 500 IU/mL, and 11.2% had blood eosinophil counts (BECs) ≥ 500/μL, suggesting the presence of a subgroup with a blood immunological profile similar to ABPA [4,5]. This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and congenital primary aphakia.
