The biopsy revealed the presence of recurrent infiltrating lobular carcinoma with ER of 3–5%, PR < 1%, Ki67 of 8–10%, and HER2 negativity, suggesting that the tumor had lost much of its hormone receptor expression and was becoming effectively triple-negative, a subtype of breast cancer that is generally more aggressive and harder to treat. The gene discussed is MKI67; the disease is neoplasm.
