The bioinformatics analysis of the ovaries transcriptome data (GSE48167) from mice on a vitamin D-deficient diet showed that vitamin D insufficiency downregulated mRNA levels of Amh [an ovary-produced hormone that is a marker of ovarian reserve (Nyström et al., 2024; Touraine et al., 2024)] and Amhr2 (Anti-Mullerian Hormone Receptor Type 2), which indicates premature ovarian insufficiency in vitamin D-deficient mice. This evidence concerns the gene AMH and vitamin D level.
