PALB2 and breast carcinoma: As has been shown in other studies [11, 25, 26], we found that pre-diagnostic awareness of a germline pathogenic variant in BRCA1/2 and PALB2 was associated with a stage-shift towards smaller, node-negative tumors at diagnosis, with a significantly lower proportion receiving chemotherapy (60% vs. 74%) and endocrine therapy (22.2% vs. 36.7%) relative to those undergoing genetic testing after a diagnosis of breast cancer.
