First identified in neuroblastoma (NB), the MYCN gene encodes a basic helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper transcription factor (TF) named N-Myc or MYCN that is known to be dysregulated in a number of cancers including rhabdomyosarcoma, medulloblastoma, small cell lung cancer and prostate cancer [1, 2]. The gene discussed is MYCN; the disease is prostate cancer.
