Studies have indicated that the homozygous genotype CC of GSDMB has a protective effect against allergic rhinitis.[108] Genetic research has demonstrated a correlation between the polymorphisms (SNPs) of GSDMB and an increased susceptibility to complex trait inflammatory diseases, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and asthma.[109, 110] Therefore, GSDMB holds promise as a therapeutic target for the aforementioned conditions. This evidence concerns the gene GSDMB and allergic rhinitis.
