We found increased expression of SOX2 in all grades of SIL and in CSCC, which is consistent with the findings by Kim et al. 28 However, most other studies were mainly focused on the expression of SOX2 in CSCC and/or HSIL/CIN 3 and were reporting its increased expression in these neoplastic lesions.19,21-24 In our study, we observed an increase in SOX2 expression from LSIL to HSIL. This evidence concerns the gene SOX2 and squamous cell intraepithelial neoplasia.
