In contrast, METTL14 is highly expressed in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells, where silencing it induces terminal myeloid differentiation in both AML and normal hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), thereby preventing AML cell survival and proliferation (Weng et al., 2018).
