HPGDS and steatosis: Compared with unexposed calves, exposed calves showed a sequence of time-dependent changes in performance (body weight gain, dry matter intake, feed conversion ratio), blood biochemistry (protein, bilirubin, reduced glutathione, etc.), serum and tissue enzyme activity (gamma-glutamyltransferase, glutathione-S-transferase, aspartate aminotransferase, etc.), and macro- (hemorrhage, coloration, consistency) and microscopic morphology (steatosis, fibrosis, glomerulonephritis, etc.).
