In a clinical trial involving 40 patients, those receiving 50 mg P. niruri extract three times daily alongside standard TB therapy experienced a notable increase in CD4+ count from 45.55 ± 6.07 mm3 to 56.25 ± 5.95 mm3 (p < 0.01) and an improvement in the CD4+/CD8+ ratio from 1.39 ± 0.22 to 1.71 ± 0.21 (p < 0.01) after one month.
