INS and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: To distinguish the effects of obesity from those of insulin resistance on the inflammatory profile of monocytes, we analysed monocytes isolated from two clinical groups: lean/overweight insulin‐sensitive (BMI 26 ± 3 Kg/m2, HOMA‐IR 2.5 ± 1.8, insulin 10 ± 7 mUI/mL, HbA1c 5.0% ± 0.3%) and individuals with obesity and insulin‐sensitive (BMI 33 ± 3 Kg/m2, HOMA‐IR 2.6 ± 1.6, insulin 11 ± 6 mUI/mL, HbA1c 5.5% ± 0.3%) (Supporting Information: Table 1).
