Research suggested that LUBAC is closely related to hypoxia, and that hypoxia induces the interaction of LUBAC with the Argonaute RISC catalytic component 2 (AGO2), which catalyzes the linear ubiquitination of AGO2 (Zhang et al., 2021); LUBAC abnormalities have been associated with a variety of diseases including inflammatory diseases, immune diseases, tumors, neuromuscular lesions, and cirrhosis (Ning et al., 2022).
