IRF8 and neoplasm: In an MC38 and CT26 murine models, MWA combined with anti-PD-L1 treatment decreased tumor growth and prolonged OS, significantly suppressing CD8+ T cell depletion and enhancing their effector function; additionally, the levels of IFN-γ-stimulated transcription factors, particularly interferon regulatory factor 8 (IRF8), were also significantly increased (76).
