In HCC, a factor that binds to the inducer of short transcripts-1 (FBI-1) upregulates LDHA expression through the stimulation of the hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α) pathway by inhibiting miR-3692-5p, ultimately conferring resistance to molecular targeted agents in HCC cells, including sorafenib, regorafenib, lenvatinib, and cabozantinib (Liu et al. 2019). This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and hepatocellular carcinoma.
