SV2A and reflex epilepsy: Seletracetam (SEL) was discovered by a drug discovery program at UCB Pharma in which ~12 000 compounds were screened in vitro for binding affinity for synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A (SV2A), the main target of the benchmark antiseizure medication (ASM) levetiracetam (LEV); 1200 compounds were further screened in vivo for seizure protection in an animal model, the audiogenic seizure‐prone DBA/2 mouse model of reflex epilepsy.1
