ADAM17 and Sepsis: ADAM17 acts as a crucial proteolytic sheddase, playing a pivotal role in inflammatory responses, particularly in the context of sepsis.[35] The shedding of the extracellular domain of ADAM17 can improve neutrophil recruitment, thereby enhancing neutrophil function during sepsis and boosting the body’s immunity.[36] Our survival curve analysis demonstrated that increased expression of ADAM17 in groups with a better prognosis of sepsis resulted in higher survival rates.
