C3 and adrenomyeloneuropathy: Tsai, Wu & Chen (2019) found that almost all patients with aMN had detectable deposits of C3 in renal biopsy tissues, and a higher deposition intensity was associated with lower serum C3 levels, predicting poorer long-term renal outcomes. This study also found that lower serum C3 levels were associated with worse long-term renal prognosis in patients with aMN, consistent with the findings of Tsai, Wu & Chen (2019).
