The suggested treatments for PMS include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), alprazolam, Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists, oral contraceptives, exercise and relaxation techniques, diuretics, and surgery (Appleton, 2018; Ryu and Kim, 2015); nonetheless, none of these mentioned treatments is known as a standard treatment for PMS (Sadock, 2007). This evidence concerns the gene GNRH1 and premenstrual tension.
