This is consistent with previous studies that showed that biomarkers reflecting type I, II, III, IV and VI collagen degradation, C1M, C2M, C3M, C4M and C6M, respectively, were modulated by treatment (Janus kinase inhibitor4, IL-6 inhibitors18,48, or methotrexate49) in patients with RA, resulting in lower biomarker concentrations independently of disease activity. Here, IL6 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
