EIF4E and infection: It has been reported that eIF4E1 is required to maintain global plant translation and to restrict TuMV accumulation during infection (Zafirov et al., 2023), and AtRALF1 can promote AtFER‐mediated eIF4E1 phosphorylation (Zhu et al., 2020), so it is reasonable to assume that eIF4E1 may be a key target in the NbRALF1‐NbFER‐mediated resistance against TuMV infection.
