It has been pointed out that the elevation of CRP during the acute phase is a predictor of early recurrence post-PVI.6,15 Referring to the usefulness of corticosteroids in preventing acute recurrence after AF ablation,17 we speculate that inflammation could theoretically be associated with early recurrence, although our present analyses did not reveal a relationship between VERAF and patients’ CRP levels.
